From Russia with Luggage

On Tuesday, I got an email from a client in Oslo, Norway with VG Helg Magazine wanting me to shoot a story of a women here in Calgary, who was "kicked" out of Norway. She was from Russia and moved with her husband after they met in Oslo, to work on a Ph.D in Geomatics a few years ago. Well, the government asked to leave the country after they filed for separation and a new law was introduced on "commuter marriages" and she would have 30 days to leave her life and "idea of wife" behind. So . . .she came to Canada. Calgary in fact. Here's the email with photo request.

Dear Chris Bolin:

My name is Espen A. Hansen. I'm a journalist at VG in Oslo. We need to get some photos of Nadejda Sokolova, the Russian scientist who came to Canada after being thrown out of Norway. It is going to be printed in VG Helg, the weekend magazine. We need a photo that shows where she lives and works after being thrown out of Norway. The best setting would probably be a photo with the city skyline in the background (when the sunset is glowing in the glass covered high rises). The whole point is to document that she lives and works in a big city on the Canadian prairie.

Can you please make an appointment with her directly, as soon as possible?

Regards
Espen A. Hansen

Here's a frame from the shoot
